BEFORE YOU JUDGE, CAN YOU WALK A MILE IN THEIR SHOES?
Studies show that those who are homeless walk between 10 and 15 miles per day to meet basic needs like food and shelter. This Summer we are asking you to take on our walking challenge to raise awareness and to raise vital funds so that RESTART Lives can continue to support those who need us.

On Sunday 8th June, we're inviting you to be part of a movement, and to walk a lap of Hyde Park with us bearing in mind all of those who have to walk to meet their basic needs, and raising awareness, by our presence and visibility, about this issue that we all care so deeply about.

From 24th May - 7th June we're asking everyone involved to ditch their usual school or work commute transport and to walk instead, using that time to focus in on why we're doing this, and to extend empathy to those who don't have the luxury to choose how they get around, or maybe even don't have the luxury to attend school or work. AND we want to see the proof! We're asking the adults at least to sign up to our group on Strava so we can motivate one another and see everyone getting their steps in. We know some of you will love to be competitive too.

As an optional extra, between now and June we're suggesting for participants to set themselves their own walking challenge, whether that's a big walk like the South Downs Way, the Thames Path or the Cotswold Way, or just hitting a daily, weekly or monthly step count or distance count. Get creative and do something that challenges you! Everyone will be raising funds on JustGiving as part of our campaign, and supporters love to see you go the extra mile (pun intended).
This event is for participants of all ages, though under 16s needs to be accompanied by an adult.

The entry fee is £30 for an individual, £100 for any group of four whether that's a family or friends and £25 for every extra person joining your group.
If you want to take part but will struggle to pay the fee, let us know when you sign up.

You're all going to enjoy plenty of walks in the park in June, so why not make this one count, give us your steps and your time on Sunday 8th June and you could be the difference between us being able to offer our services to everyone who approaches us for support, and having to turn someone away in their time of need.
